Kamat rebukes Shiv Sena for corruption

Mumbai, Sep 9 (UNI) Congress MP Gurudas Kamat has rebuked the Shiv Sena for its alleged corruption regarding the 58,000 sq ft land plot in Vikroli, here.

The ruling Shiv Sena in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has again showed the hideous nature of its corruption by liberating the 58,000 sq ft plot of land in Vikroli, which was reserved for primary school, sports ground, garden and dispensary, and giving it to Hindustan construction company, criticised Kamat.

''Instead of fulfilling the promise of developing schools, sports grounds and gardens on reserved plots, as mentioned in its so called 'manifesto', the Sena has undertaken the one-point agenda of protecting the interest of builders and developers. This instance of returning the 58,000 sq ft plot to the construction company even after the Crawford Market land fiasco and the BMC's Rs 200-crore loss due to it, is a loss to the tax-paying citizens of Mumbai,'' said Kamat and added that the Congress party will make all efforts to find the real reason behind it and defeat the attempt to sell-off Mumbai.

''All Congress corporators in the BMC will meet the BMC Commissioner and the State Chief Minister and request them to cancel this decision. The Congress will also go to court for justice in the matter if required. Inclusion of the subject in 'immediate work' and the decision of giving the land to the construction company by taking advantage of the absence of the Opposition corporators in the House due to the National flag-insult matter, is suspicious and it's an instance of violating the rules of the House'', alleged BMC Leader of Opposition Rajhans Sing.

He hoped that Congress corporators led by Mumbai Congress president MP Gurudas Kamat will succeed in defeating this conspiracy.
