Five captives freed by NLFT abductors
Agartala, Sep 9 (UNI) Following tremendous pressure from security forces and local population, the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) were forced to free five of the six captives, who were abducted on Monday last from Gokulnagar village in Tripura's West District.
The NLFT militants were forced to free the five captives after four days.
Moreover, the security force's joint combing operation had left NLFT with no other option but to free the captives,'' said a top police official.
He also said all the exit routes from the Baramura Hill range were also sealed by the combing party.
The captives traced by the combing parties at Bilaihampara told the police that they were released by the abductors at Nonacherra jungle and arrived at Bilaihampara on foot.
However, one person still held captive.
Meanwhile, a few armed militants reportedly abducted a tribal in Dhalai district for ransom.
