CPI(M) claims starvation death in Bihar

Patna, Sep 9 (UNI) CPI (M), Bihar unit, today expressed concern over reports of starvation deaths in some parts of the state.

The party alleged the state government had failed to prevent such deaths despite a drought like situation prevailing here in some parts of the state.

Party leader Arun Kumar Mishra alleged that a rickshaw puller died of starvation in Ara while similar incidents were reported from Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur earlier.

He said all welfare schemes aimed at ameliorating the condition of the farmers were not being implemented effectively which led to the alarming situation in some parts of the state.
