Chinese delegation meets Deve Gowda
Bangalore, Sep 9 (UNI) An eight-member Chinese delegation, led by Hainan Chinese Overseas Friendship Association's Wang Shouchu, called on former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) President H D Deve Gowda at his residence here today.
Speaking to newspersons, Ms Wang described the meeting as an informal one and said they had discussed the common characteristics between Karnataka and the Hainan province.
She said the Hainan province, located at the Centre of the Asia-Pacific economic rim and on the major international marine route in South China sea, was one of the three major home provinces of overseas Chinese. With over 8.25 million population, the province had achieved a 10 per cent growth in GDP. It had a beautiful landscape and was one of the seven most famous tourist spots of the country.
Mr Wang said the Hainan province was keen on having mutual co-operation with Bangalore in the areas of IT and allied services.
The delegation would also visit IT major TCS.
