Central team to study various tribal projects in Tripura

Agartala, Sep 9 (UNI) A Central team led by Tribal Wefare Secretary Mina Gupta and Joint Secretary Rajiv Kumar will on a two days visit to Tripura from September 11.

Tribal Welfare Commissioner S K Das told the newspersons here today that, the team would conduct a spot study of the various projects undertaken by the concerned ministry in the state.

''The team will meet the department's chief secretary and other officials at the Secretariat,'' Mr Das said.

He said the state government would place a charter of demands relating to various tribal welfare schemes before the team.

The demands included increase of funds from Rs 2.5 to Rs 5 crore for infrastructural development of various tribal schools and reopening of the eight vocational training centres.

Meanwhile, another 20-member delegation from Andhra Pradesh assembly would be visiting the state from September 12, to hold discussions with the public undertaking committee of the state assembly.
