BDR objects fencing work at Khowai

Agartala, Sep 9 (UNI) The fencing work on the Bangladesh international border near Khowai town at Tripura's West district here remained suspended from yesterday following the BDR's objection.

Police sources told UNI that the Bangladesh Rifle's personnel has 'harassed' the Indian workers here alleging that the pillars were being constructed inside the 150 metres of the international boundary.

''Four pillars have been already constructed but they did not object then,'' police said.

He also informed the construction of the pillars were done within the 150 metres area demarcated by the Indian government.

''The work going on near Bangladesh border has been suspended after the objection,'' police said.
