BCCL to form committee for disbursement of compensation money

Dhanbad, Sep 9 (UNI) BCCL's Chairman-cum-Managing Director Partho Bhattacharya today said king of Bhat-Dih mines victims would be given Rs 9.11 lakh each as compensation and job to a family member.

The Bharat Coaking Coal Limited (BCCL) would soon form a committee to ensure proper distribution of compensation to the family members of the deceased within ten days Mr Bhattacharya told UNI.

He said Union Coal Minister Shibu Soren had announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh and a job to a family member of the dead miners besides Rs 1 lakh from the Jharkhand Chief Minister's fund.

Chief Minister Arjun Munda had also announced to provide Rs 1 lakh each to the family of the victims of the mine incident.

Mr Bhattacharya said the BCCL would also give gratuity along with the compensation. The matter of the Providend Fund's money would be sorted out soon, he added.

He hoped the compensation money would be given in the next seven to ten days.

On Wednesday, 50 miners were killed due to emition of toxic gas, sparked by huge explosion, inside the Bhat-Dih mine of BCCL's Nagda colliery here.
