Assam Rifles jawan killed, two injured in rebels attack
Imphal, Sep 9 (UNI) An Assam Rifles jawan was killed and two others were wounded when suspected rebels ambushed a patrol party at Joupi village in Manipur's Chandel district today.
Assam Rifles said the jawans on a routine patrol were attacked by a group of rebels in which one personnel was killed on the spot and two were wounded seriously.
The secuirty force also retaliated but there was no immediate report of any casualty on that side, AR sources added.
Police said they were inquiring into the incident and had so far no clue which militant group was involved in the attack.
