Anil Ambani to invest 12,000 cr in TN

Chennai, Sept 9: The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group today presented proposals to the Tamil Nadu Government for investments to the tune of Rs 12,000 crore, including a 1000 MW power plant, in the state.

Talking to reporters here, after a meeting with the state Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, ADA Group Chairman Anil Ambani said the power plant would be set up with an investment of Rs 10,000 crore.

He also presented a proposal to set up an IT Park and a convention cntre in the state at an investment of Rs 2,000 crore.

The Group had also envisaged interest for setting up a desalination plant to meet the drinking water requirement of the city.

Mr Ambani said he was looking forward to work closely with the state government, saying that a conducive climate prevailed in the state for new investments.

Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology Dayanidhi Maran was also present on the ocassion.
