Jaipur, Sep 9: The National Panthers Party chairman Bhim Singh has called for amendements in Article 370 which applies to Jammu and Kashmir but is against the total abolition of the article, as demanded by BJP.

Professor Singh, who is on a two-day visit here to attend the Indian Association of Tour Operators convention, told UNI that Article 370 should not be abolished as Kashmiris identify with it.

He also urged the national leadership to end constitutional uncertainty regarding Centre-state relations over Jammu and Kashmir.

Prof Singh called upon Congress president Sonia Gandhi to convene a meeting of all coalition partners in Jammu and Kashmir to end confrontation in the state.

He said one of the coalition partners has created uncertainty in the state by raising slogans of 'self-rule' and demilitarisation to please Pakistan.

He said the Parliament should now assume powers to legislate in four subjects namely defence, foreign affairs, communications and currency vis-a-vis Jammu and Kashmir and establish its authority and end confusion in interest of national security and integrity.
