3000 policemen to be shifted from Telangana

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 9 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today said GO 610 which provides for transfer of employees of other regions from the Telangana region, would be strictly implemented in the police department.

Talking to newspersons after inaugurating the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory here, Mr Reddy said transfer orders had been issued to around 3000 policemen in compliance with the provisions of the GO.

He said 200 policemen were already transferred and the rest would be transferred in due course. The government was taking sometime to effect the transfers of 3000 policemen as suddenly shifting so many might create law and order problem.

The Home Minister said the government had issued orders for the recruitment of 3000 constables in the Telangana region and those transferred would be relieved as soon as the recruitment process was over, in a phased manner. The transferred policemen would be repatriated to their respective areas.

The Director General of Police (DGP) who also came here to attend the programme, told newspersons that his department was making all efforts to cut the delay in obtaining postmortem reports.
