13 died, 4 injured in Uttaranchal bus accident

Dehra Dun, Sep 9 (UNI) At least 13 people were killed and four seriously wounded when a mini bus, they were travelling in, fell into a river at Tehri district of Uttaranchal today.

According to SDM Deepti Singh, the bus heading towards Dehra Dun, plunged into the river at around 1330 hrs at Nayanbagh in Tehri district.

While 12 people died on the spot, one of the injured died in the hospital.

The injured had been admitted to Nayanbagh Primary Hospital.

A tyre burst was being reported as the cause of the accident, the SDM said.

Meanwhile, ITBP jawans and locals were carrying out search and rescue operation.
