Wells buried under sand reappear after rains

Jaisalmer, Sep 8 (UNI) Around a dozen wells - almost 100 years old - have reappeared here following the heavy rains and flood in the area in the recent past.

These wells were buried under sand dunes for the past many years.

Now the sand was washed away following the rains.

The water collected in the area have taken the form of small natural lakes in the Randha Modha basti over a stretch of two to four km.

Sweet water has collected in these lakes and the water level has also increased.

Experts say the water can be used for drinking.
