Visakha refinery laboratory receives ISO certification

Visakhapatnam, Sep 8(UNI) The Visakha refinery quality control laboratory of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) today received ISO/IEC 17025-2005 certification for competence in testing and calibration in the field of chemical testing.

HPCL executive director A S Rao congratulated the laboratory personnel for setting high standards in quality control. The certification would strengthen the commitment of the refinery to ensure supply of quality petroleum products to the customers, he said in a release here today.

The National Acceditation Board for Laboratories (NABL), an autonomous body under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), certifies the laboratories, which comply with the management systems and proficiency requirements of ISO 17025 standard.

The laboratory was assessed on the basis of its capability to perform tests, calibration and provide accurate and reliable results in accordance with ISO/IEC, he added.
