Vajpayee attends National Executive, poll campaign

Dehradun, Sep 8: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee arrived here to attend the National Executive and launch poll campaign in Uttaranchal.

Mr Vajpayee, whose arrival was delayed due to inclement weather conditions, attended the Executive deliberations which discussed the issues concerning farmers' plight and price rise.

He also sat through the proceedings when senior BJP leader L K Advani spoke on the internal security scenario.

Even till noon, the weather condition was such that the organisers were contemplating postponing the rally for tomorrow.

However, when there was a let up in the weather conditions, the party managers went ahead with their original programme, sources said.
