Satyam, Microsoft announce BI facilities in S'pore
Bangalore, Sep 8: Satyam Computer Services Ltd and Microsoft Corp today announced the opening of two state-of-the-art Business Intelligence (BI) facilities in Singapore and Shanghai.
The two sites would be centres of excellence where researchers would use real-life scenarios and data to test, develop, and implement innovative solutions for the financial services sector, the companies announced in a release here.
They also announced the availability of Satyam's iDecisions BI application, built to run on the Microsoft platform, including Microsoft SQL Server 2005. By optimising Microsoft and Satyam's BI solutions and services, a broad range of financial business customers would be able to realise enhanced customer benefits, including greater ease of use and reduced ownership and integration costs, the release said.
''Traditional BI solutions tend to be quite complex, expensive applications which limit their usage in organisations. By porting iDecisions framework to the Microsoft platform, we can provide a lot more value and ease of use, helping to make use of advanced data-warehousing and making BI more accessible across enterprises of all sizes,'' Satyam Computer Services Director and Senior Vice-President, APAC-MEIA, Virender Aggarwal said.
The labs would use SQL Server 2005 as the database engine, utilising its comprehensive analytical, reporting, integration and data migration capabilities. This would be integrated with Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to provide collaboration, dashboard and scorecard functionalities and enable companies to extend the value of their existing applications, the release said.
