New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam has asked the Human Resource Development Ministry to hold a meeting with Mahatma Gandhi Antarashtriya Hindi Visvavidyalaya authorities and formulate a time-bound action plan for the implementation of the Fact Finding Committee recommendations in the light of the controversy over the competence of its Vice Chancellor G Gopinathan.
The HRD Ministry had constituted the multi-body committee after taking the approval of the President.
In a clarification on today's news reports relating to the university, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said the committee had submitted its final report directly to the HRD Ministry on June 2, 2006 and was received in the President's Secretariat through the Ministry on August 3.
He said the President, after going through the report, had made certain observations which were communicated to the HRD Ministry on August 29.
''The President has advised that the Ministry may hold a meeting with the University authorities and other relavant agencies so as to formulate a time-bound Action Plan for speedily implementing the actionable recommendations made by the Fact Finding Committee for furtherance of the interests of the University and the student community,'' the Spokesman, Mr S M Khan, said.
