Raids on former AIADMK Ministers' houses

Chennai, Sep 8 (UNI) Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DAVC) officials today conducted mass raids in the residences and connected premises of former AIADMK Ministers O Panneerselvam, Anitha Radhakrishnan and their relatives and friends in different parts of Tamil Nadu.

Mr Pannerselvam had served as Chief Minister for a while.

DVAC sources said the raids were being conducted in 16 different places including a star hotel room at Chennai, where Mr Panneerselvam was staying, to detect wealth accumulated during the AIADMK regime, which was deemed disproportionate to their known sources of income.

The raids were going on in places at Periyakulam, Madurai, Tiruchendur and others, they said.

Notably, while Mr Panneerselvam looked after the Public Works Department, Ms Radhakrishnan was in charge of Housing and Urban Development during the AIADMK government.
