PM expresses condolence over colliery victims

New Delhi, Sept 8: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today expressed shock and concern over the death of 56 people, who were trapped inside the Bhat-Dih mines of Nagda Colliery of BCCL last night.

In a condolence message, Mr Singh conveyed his sympathy to the next of the kin of the victims and also assured all possible assistance and support to them.

Yesterday, 56 victims were trapped inside the mines due to water-logging triggered by huge explosion inside the pit.

However, none of the bodies of the victims could be recovered so far even as a rescue team was trying to extricate them.
