Oracle takes over India-specific features of JD Edwards Applications

New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) Leading enterprise software company Oracle India Private Ltd today announced it has taken over the provision of customer support for and development of the India-specific features in its JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications.

Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a complete suite of modular, pre-integrated industry-specific business applications designed for rapid deployment and ease of administration.

This is an extension of the support that Oracle currently provides for the standard versions of JD Edwards Applications.

It reflects Oracle's increased focused on the JD Edwards customer base in India, the company said in a statement.

Prior to this, the India-specific features of JD Edwards Applications were supported by an Oracle Certified Advantage partner, Mumbai-based Systime Computer Systems India Limited.

However, Systime will continue to focus on sales and implementation of JD Edwards Applications in the Indian market.

The company have taken over the support and development of the India-specific features in Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications effective from August 1 this year, Oracle India MD Krishan Dhawan said.

''We have been using Oracle's JD Edwards Applications since 2003. With Oracle's support extending to the India-specific features of JD Edwards Applications, we can continue using the software to manage our manufacturing processes,'' said Mr R Ramakrishanan, Executive President and COO of Bajaj Electricals Ltd.

Oracle Applications, including the Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, JD Edwards World and Siebel Business Applications, enable information-driven business processes that connect and automate an organisation.

Oracle India has more than 6,500 customers in the telecommunications, banking, insurance, manufacturing and utilities industries, across the government and private sector.
