New winners for Monsoon Rally

Kolkata, Sep 8 (UNI) Subir Roy and Susovan Dey have won the Tata Bearing Monsoon Rally 2006 beating the defending champion Arindam Ghosh and Somdev Chanda, who ended as being runners-up.

Subir Roy said that the rally was a tough one and some of the parts of the route, especially the dirt tracks and unmarker terrain, were quite a challenge.

This is the sole monsoon rally in this part of the country.

The two wheeler category was won by Shakir Hussain and Md Ifran Bhati, while Rana Dey and Bappa Bose were the runners up.

The rally is being held in Time Speed Distance format covering a distance of 515 kms through West Bengal and Jharkhand.
