Lakkavalli receives 10 cms rain

Bangalore, Sep 8 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was active over North Interior Karnataka and weak over Coastal Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and isolated places over Coastal Karnataka. Lakkavalli recorded heavy rainfall of 10 cms.

Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm) : Sagar, Thirthahalli, Sakleshpura, Arsikere 5 each; Hubli, Ranebennur, Gangavathy, Hungund, Sringeri 4 each; Mundagod , Bailhongal, Soundatti (both Belgaum dt), Kundagol, Navalgund, Koppal, Bagalkote, Muddebihal, Bhadravathi, Humchadakatte, Balehonnur, Mudigere, N.R.Pura, Kadur, Hassan, Harihara 3 each.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Koppal, Bagalkote, Bijapur, Bidar, Gulbarga, Raichur, Kodagu,Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Mysore, Chamarajnagara, Mandya, Kolar, Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Bellary, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumkur districts and at isolated places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts.
