IPV Technology launches AOC LCD computer monitors in Kerala

Kochi, Sep 8 (UNI) Taiwan-based TPV Technology Ltd., among the leading manufacturers of computer monitors in the world, today announced major expansion plans for Kerala.

Addressing a press conference here, TPV, Country Head, Mukesh Gupta said the company began its operations in India in 2001 as an OEM supplier. TPV is today the largest supplier of computer monitors in India, with an approximate 30 per cent market share, he said.

Last year, the company sold 1.20 million monitors in India and this year it was targeting a sale of 1.5 million monitors, he said.

A US $ 5 billion company, TPV had a turnover of Rs 500 crore in India last year.

To cater to the Kerala market, the company today announced the appointment of M/s Aldous Glare Trade and Exports as the channel partner in Cochin to service the entire state.

On the occasion, the company also launched the AOC ultra thin, wide screen LCD range of computer monitors in Kochi. Priced between Rs 8,000 (17 inches) to Rs 20,000 (19 inches), the AOC monitors come equipped with features such as internal speakers, in-built power supply and auto adjustments for brightness and contrast.

Mr Gupta said recent industry trends show that more companies were purchasing LCD monitors instead of the conventional CRT monitors. The present LCD market share of 15 per cent is expected to go upto 25 per cent.
