High Alert in Capital after Malegaon blasts
New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) The Delhi Police has sounded a high alert here and beefed up security at all strategic points including markets, crowded places, city borders and VIP areas after three blasts rocked Malegaon in Maharashtra this afternoon which killed at least than 25 people.
A state of high alert has been sounded in the national Capital and security at religious places, crowded markets, railway stations and specially at metro stations has been beefed up, Additional Commissioner of Police Dependra Pathak told UNI.
''Following the blasts in Maharashtra, security has been increased at all strategic locations in Delhi with specific instructions to look for suspicious persons and objects,'' he said.
Sources also said 'dog squads' have been sent to market places and railway stations and the 'bomb squad' alerted for any exigency.
Additional forces have also been sent to crowded areas like shopping complexes, cinema halls, and temples, he added.
At least 25 people were have been killed and 125 wounded in three blasts this afternoon in Malegaon, close to Nashik, in north-western Maharashtra.
