England drop Trescothick

LONDON, Sep 8 (Reuters) England dropped opening batsman Marcus Trescothick for today's fourth one-day international against Pakistan after he earlier in the week made himself unavailable for the Champions Trophy.

Pakistan won the toss at Trent Bridge, Nottingham and opted to bat.

The home team, 2-0 down in the five-match series, also dropped all rounder Rikki Clarke, bringing in Ed Joyce and Michael Yardy as replacements.

Trescothick has had a poor series against Pakistan and was bowled for a first-ball duck in the third one-dayer. He asked not to be considered for the Champions Trophy to continue treatment for a stress-related condition which also cut short his tour to India in February.

The limited-overs tournament will be held in India in October and November.

Teams: England - Ed Joyce, Andrew Strauss (captain), Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Jamie Dalrymple, Michael Yardy, Chris Read, Jon Lewis, Sajid Mahmood, Stuart Broad.

Pakistan - Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq (captain), Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Mohammad Asif, Shoaib Akhtar.
