Emirates Airlines to start direct flight to B'lore

Bangalore, Sep 8: Emirates Airlines will introduce a direct non-stop flight service from Dubai to Bangalore starting October 29.

Announcing this to newspersons here today, Airlines West Asia and Indian Ocean Commercial Operations Vice-President Nabil Sultan said Bangalore would be the eighth destination in India. The city was considered potentially stronger, keeping in view its rapid growth, especially in the Information Technology sector. The airlines had opened its office and appointed 30 personnel to cater to the needs of the local people, he added.

He said the new route promised to open up a world of opportunities for Banglaore's key industries such as IT, Biotechnology and Tourism as Emirates linked the city to 13,14 and 20 new gateways in the Middle East, Africa and Europe respectively.

As an introductory offer till November 30, the airlines offered return fare at Rs 14,000 to Dubai, Rs 38,400 to New York and Rs 20,000 to many European cities, he added.
