ASI robbed off cash in state capital

Patna, Sep 8 (UNI) An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of special branch Umesh Prasad Singh was robbed off Rs 50,000 in cash at Shahid smarak chowk near the Assembly's main gate under Sachiwalaya police station area here today.

Police said the criminals were probably following the ASI from the bank who had withdrawan the fund from SBI branch located in the secretariat.

The criminals intercepted Mr Singh, snatched the bag in full public view and fled away.

The ASI is posted at Rosera in Samastipur district and had come to the state capital to receive his salary.
