Week-long programme on Vande Mataram begins in Jharkhand
Ranchi, Sep 7 (UNI) The BJP-led NDA government in Jharkhand began celebrating a week-long programme from today to mark the centenary of National Song Vande Mataram in the state.
The BJP here had instructed its party workers to ensure singing of Vande Mataram at important public places in every district headquarters.
In the state capital, the party along with members of its minority cell planed rendition of the song.
Chief Minister Arjun Munda and Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari attended a special programme organised at Elbert Ekka Chowk here.
Besides, state HRD Minster Pradeep Yadav, BJP state president Yadunath Pandey and party activists were present on the occasion.
After the programme, Mr Munda rushed to Dhanbad where about 70 people were feared trapped inside a Bharat Coke and Coal Limited (BCCL) mine at Bhat-Dhi due to water-logging after an explosion inside the pit yesterday.
