Videocon invests for home appliances plant
Mumbai, Sept 7: Videocon Industries Ltd - Electrolux today announced its plans to invest Rs 150 crore to set up a plant to make home appliances in Uttaranchal.
Addressing the press conference here, Managing Director Anirudh Dhoot said the project would be funded from internal accruals.''The north is a big market for us,'' he said and pointed out that the Uttaranchal plant would manufacture a wide range of home appliances and help Videocon expand its reach in northern India.
Mr Dhoot also announced the launch of its all new range of Washing Machines with improved technology and additional features priced at the range between Rs 6,990 to Rs 15,090.
It has introduced five new models of washing machines with two semi-automatic and three fully-automatic variants -- Fabriguard Classic (6.2 kg), Fabriguard Millenia(6.2 kg), Active Care (6 kg), Alpha Care (5.5 kg) and Ultra Care (7 kg), with the advanced technology that commensurates with the needs and desires of the consumers, according to Mr Madhav Nene, DGM-Marketing of the company.
