Speaker issues showcause to three Legislators

Ranchi, Sep 7: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari today issued showcause notices to the three Opposition MLAs, including two former Ministers in the BJP-led NDA government in the state, under Anti-defection law.

Talking to UNI, the Speaker said the BJP Legislators - Saryu Rai, Dinesh Sarangi, Chandresh Oraon, Putkar Hembrom and Sameer Oraon - had filed three separate petitions demanding disqualification of three Legislatrors Kamlesh Singh and Anos Ekka and former Deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi from the membership of the Jharkhand Assembly.

Mr Namdhari said Mr Singh and Mr Marandi had been asked to reply by September 11 whereas in the case of Anos Ekka third hearing was scheduled the same day after which he would give his decision.
