Rupee weakens, closes three paise down at Rs 46.19/20/USD
Mumbai, Sep 7 (UNI) After three consecutive days of strong performance Indian currency came down marginally from its high to close at Rs 46.19/20 per US Dollar as against Rs 46.15/16 per US Dollar yesterday, as the dollar flow eased compared to previous two days, said a money market trader today.
Earlier, Rupee opened at Rs 46.14/16 per USD and in mid-morning session traded at 46.10/11/US Dollar.
RBI today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.10/US Dollar compared to the previous rate of 46.21 per USD on Tuesday.
The six month forward premia was fixed low at 1.26 per cent and the one year forward premia was also fixed low at 1.28 per cent.
The Rupee performance against other currencies however was mixed, against Euro, Rupee closed up at Rs 58.81 (58.82), against Pound Sterling it closed up at Rs 86.60 (86.77) however, against Yen it closed down at Rs 39.75 (39.51).
