Ritwik, Joshna on song in national squash

New Delhi, Sep 7 (UNI) Top draw Ritwik Bhattacharya mowed down Amjad Khan in straight game in the fourth round of the men's event while Joshna Chinappa dropped just one point before thrashing Deepti Suri in women's second round of the 54th Senior National Squash Championships here today.

In men's event, Ritwik thrashed Amjad 9-1, 9-4, 9-1, while his nemesis Sourav Ghosal pounded Ravneet Singh 9-3, 9-3, 9-3. Among others, talented Harinder Pal Singh beat Ravi Dixit 4-9, 9-0, 9-4, 9-1, Siddharth Suchde pounded Uday Daas 9-1, 9-1, 9-1 and Parthiban Ayyapan downed Kartik Gupta 9-1, 9-2, 9-2.

In women's second round, Joshna was merciless against Deepti and beat her 9-0, 9-1, 9-0, while SAF Games Silver medallist Dipika Pallikal didn't concede a single point against Vasundhra and beat her 9-0, 9-0, 9-0.

Among others, Shivangi Paranjape swept away Annu Priya 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 and Shruti Ashok tamed Kudrat 9-0, 9-0, 9-1.
