Pondy CM inaugurates 'Indian Panorama 2006'
Pondicherry, Sep 7 (UNI) Pondicherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy inaugurated the 'Indian Panorama-2006' here this evening.
The week-long film festival was being organised by the Pondicherry administration along with the Navadarshan Film Society.
Malayalam films 'Deivanamathil' and 'Perumazhakkalam' directed by Jayaraj and Kamal respectively along with 'Raam' in Tamil directed by Ameer, 'Hasina' (Kannada) directed by Girish Kasaravalli, 'Grahanan' (Telegu) directed by Mohan Krishna Indrasanti and 'Antarmahal' (Bengali) directed by Rituparno Gosh would be screened in the film festival.
Mr Rangasamy presented the Pondicherry Governments' Award for the best film of the year to Mr Ameer adjudging his film 'Raam' the best film. The award comprises Rs 10,000 and a citation.
Actress Saranya also participated in the function held at the Alliance Francise auditorium this evening.
