Manmohan Singh to visit Punjab on Sept 27-28

Kharar, Mohali Sep 7: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be on a two-day visit to Punjab from September 27.

Informing this at a public rally here today, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said Dr Singh would lay the foundation stone of the Indian Institute of Sciences at Mohali and International Airport at Halwara with the facility of a Cargo terminal.

Dr Singh's scheduled visit is being seen as the beginning of the ruling Congress campaign for the coming Assembly polls in the state, due in February next year.
