PM likely to visit Nagaland by year-end
Kohima, Sep 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to visit Nagaland by this year end or early next year to inaugurate a Sainik school at Pungiwa in Nagaland's Peren district.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio told a news conference at Dimapur yesterday that he has invited the Prime Minister to come and lay the foundation stone on Kohima campus of Nagaland University.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister on Tuesday evening, Mr Rio also briefed him on various initiatives of the state government.
The Sainik school will be operational from the next academic year.
The Defence Ministry has already appointed the Principal of the school.
