PIL moved against Govt

Itanagar, Sep 07 (UNI) Anchal Samiti member Happa Taidong today alleged that the panchayat leaders were not involved in the process of development by the Legislators, particularly for implementing the schemes of the department of Tirap and Changlang (DoTC).

Mr Taidong on behalf of all elected members of Changlang district had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Arunachal Pradesh government in Gauhati High Court.

After hearing counsel of the petitioner on August 31, Chief Justice B B Reddy posted the hearing after three weeks as the government advocate had sought three weeks time for filing affidavit, if any, after accepting the notices.

Claiming that cent per cent financial achievement was being shown while most of the schemes were not implemented, the PIL also sought devolution of power.
