Mafia gets divorce, to remarry in Bhilwara

Bhilwara, Sep 7 (UNI) Mafia Bano, 20, who went against the Shariat to get her child marriage annulled and married a second time, has been finally granted divorce after five long months of trial and tribulations.

But Mafia will have to wait for another three-and-a-half months before she can stay with her second husband Idris Mohammad as she will have to read the nikahnama once again with him.

Mafia's marriage will be held sometimes after December 15 this year. Both Idris and Mafia's families are happy.

Mafia's divorce was declared by community Panch Amruddin yesterday.

Mafia's elder sister Bashiran was married into the same family but she also returned to her maternal home with her son Farid as her first husband Feroze used to beat and torture her. Bashiran's husband is Feroz's uncle.

Babukhan Bisayati, Mafia's father, is happy at the divorce but was aggrieved on having to part with his grandson. They will also have to forgo the alimony amounting to Rs 1.5 lakh. Her first husband's family agreed to divorce Mafia only on the condition of her nephew Feroze being handed over to his father.
