HDPI to open second back office in Kolkata
Kolkata, Sep 7(UNI) HSBC Electronic Data Processing India (HDPI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the West Bengal Government for setting up its second back office campus in the state to provide for 2,000 professionals in the next two years.
The proposed campus will be set up on a ten-acre plot of the state Information and Technology department at Nonadanga in the eastern fringe of the city.
Company sources today said a total of Rs 50 crore would be invested over the next five years for developing the campus.
HDPI opened its first campus in Salt Lake city in November last year employing 1,700 employees. The company has a plan to increase its strength to 2,000.
The company has also agreed to conduct skill enhancement training for qualified personnel on behalf on the state government to make them ready for the industry, IT Secretary Siddharth said.
HSBC's other group service centres in India are located in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam. Its overseas centres are in China, Malyasia and Sri Lanka.
