Ganesh Chathurthi festivities pass off peacefully

Hubli, Sep 7 (UNI) The 11-day-long Ganesh Chathurthi festivities ended on a peaceful note in the communally sensitive twin city of Hubli-Dharwad and Belgaum city today with the immersion of the Ganesha idols, installed in public places.

The immersion processions that began last, moved through major streets of both the cities and ended this morning.

Police had made heavy security arrangements to meet any eventuality.
