Fresh elections only option in Jharkhand: Yadav

Bhopal, Sep 7(UNI) Janata Dal(United) President Sharad Yadav today said fresh elections was the only option to bring in political stability in Jharkhand, where the Arjun Munda government has been reduced to minority.

''The BJP-led NDA government will attempt to prove its majority in the Assembly, but it seemed to be a distant possibility with the government having been reduced to minority'', he told reporters here.

Giving a clean chit to the Congress on the latest developments, Mr Yadav said instability arose as outsiders had been given tickets and relied upon.

On the role of Governor Syed Sibtey Razi, the JD(U) leader said the Governor upheld democratic traditions by granting time to the NDA government to prove its majority in the Assembly.

The BJP-led NDA government was reduced to minority following the resignation of four ministers and the Governor had asked Mr Munda to prove majority in the Assembly by September 14.

Mr Yadav was here to attend the state executive of his party.
