Elango and Srujan to clash in the finals

Bangalore, Sep 7 (UNI) Second seed Srujan Nandaluri of Andhra Pradesh and Qualifier Aditya Elango of Tamil Nadu entered the Under 19 boys final in the Union Bank All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament played here today.

In Girl's Section in the same age category, Neha Pandit will clash with Arundhati Pantwane in a all-maharashtra final.

In a keenly contested match that lasted 46 minutes, Elango, after losing the first game 17-21 rallied back smartly to level the score by winning the second at 21-17. In a hardfought decider, Elango reeled off eight points after trailing 12-20 to win his place in the title round.

In the other semifinal Srujan defeated Ajay Jayaram 21-19, 24-22 in a 41-minute battle.

Top seed Neha entered the final as an unfortunate Aditi Mutatkar also of Maharashtra, retuired after twisting her ankle after establishing a commanding 21-18 and 11-8 lead. In the other semifinal Neha brushed aside the challenge from statemate Mudra Dahinje 21-13, 21-15.
