Cong, PWP workers clash; 21 injured in Alibaug

Alibaug, Sep 7 (UNI) At least 21 people were injured, two of them seriously, when Congress and Peasants and Workers Party (PWP) workers clashed today over alleged encroachment of a plot.

Of the total injured people, 15 of them have been admitted to the hospital including Alibaug Taluka Congress President Anant Gondhali and his son Mangesh Gondali, the is sarpanch of vilalge Khanav, whose condition is said to be critical.

The incident which occured at 1030 hrs was caused when Mangesh Gondhali objected to an encroachment on government land by a person from PWP.

No arrests have been made so far and investigations are on, police said.
