Changlang ZSS gets national award

Changlang, Sep 7 (UNI) The Changlang district Zilla Saksharata Samiti (ZSS) has been selected for Satyen Maitra Memorial Literacy Award-2006 for achieving 66.1 per cent in basic literacy in the age group of 15-35 years, according to In-charge Director of School Education K Yirang.

Instituted by the National Literacy Mission (NLM) of the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development, ZSS was chosen for the coveted award for its achieving Total Literacy Campaign (TLC).

The award comprising a trophy and citation would be conferred by Vice President of India at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on December 8 on occasion of International Literacy Day.
