Bhupati kickstarts school visiting programme with Podar school

Mumbai, Sep 7 (UNI) Tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi today kickstarted the Sunfeast Open school visit programme by visiting the Podar International School located at Santacruz on the Western suburbs here.

The excitement witnessed among kids was a testimony to the immense popularity that the upcoming 'Sunfest Open 2006' has garnered across the country.

On the occasion, Podar International School was recognized for having sent large numbers of entries from Mumbai for the 'Sunfeast Trophy Design Contest'. A total of 35,000 entries were received for this contest from across the country and Mumbai alone contributed 6,000 entries.

The 'Sunfest Open Trophy Design Contest' had invited school children across the country to showcase their talent by designing a trophy for the 'Sunfest Open 2006'.

Bhupathi interacted and shared his Sunfeast Open tennis moments with the excited and aspirational children during the interface at the school.

In addition, the tennis ace spoke about the key feature being 'Tennis-in-the-mall' to be organised at the In Orbit Mall here on September 14 which will feature Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza.

The 'tennis-in-mall is a unique event aimed at taking the game closer to the audiences by providing them with a chance to see the leading players on the international tennis circuit up-close and in person.
