Apple launches Mac Pro

Mumbai, Sep 7 (UNI) Apple Computers today launched the new Mac Pro, a quad Xeon, 64-bit desktop workstation featuring two new Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors running up to 3.0 GHz and a new system architecture that delivers up to twice the performance of the power Mac G5 Quad.

Speaking on the occasion Desktop Product Marketing Manager Asia Pacific Melvyn Chen said, ''The Mac Pro will find professional application in film and videos, music and audio, science and technology, design and print, and digital photography.

Bollywood will benefit immensely from as it is two times faster than the previous generation Intel, he said. It boasts pf advanced performance, greater expansion, higher performance graphics options and unprecedented customization.

Further, he said, the new Mac Pro consumes less power and generates less heat.

Its price is 25 per cent less than the present Intel. ''The Mac Pro is priced at Rs 163,700 and is available at all Apple outlets,'' Mr Chen added.
