All schools except madarsas render Vande Mataram in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Sep 7 (UNI) The national song Vande Mataram was sung in all educational institutions except madarsas in Rajasthan to celebrate the centenary year of the song.
The state government had made the singing of the song compulsory in all educational institutes.
Apart from all schools, the song was also sung in chorus by all staff and officials at the Dr Radhakishan Shiksha Sankul, the office of state education department here.
The patriotic song was also sung at the Congress headquarters here in the state. General secretary of All India Congress Committee Ashok Gehlot and chairman of party disciplinary committee, Pradyumun Singh and large number of workers were also present on the occasion.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad's state unit and its allied organisations Bajrang Dal, Durga Vahini, Govansh Rakshan Sanvardhan sang the song at 1100 hrs at Albert Hall.
Acharya Dharmendra, a member of VHP's central guiding committee, who was present on the occasion, said no other song can be as secular as Vande Mataram as it is in praise of our motherland.
