About 60 children fainted in function

Nagpur, Sep 7 (UNI) About 60 school children, who gathered at Dayanand Park here today to recite 'Vande Mataram,' fainted following which they were rushed to a private hospital.

Police said the students, mostly girls from three schools in north Nagpur, who had assembled at the function waited for about three hours for the Chief Guest to arrive in the intense heat.

After the programme was over, four to five students complained of vomitting and others felt giddy, while some of them even fainted.

The organisers rushed them to the hospital and after the first aid, they were sent home.

Congress Sewa Dal also organised to recite 'Vande Mataram' function in which a large number of Congress leaders and workers participated to celebrate centenary of the National song.
