462 encroachments detected along NH-52A
Itanagar, Sept 7: As many as 462 cases of encroachment of structures along the National Highway 52 A were detected during a joint survey recently by Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Amit Singla and 756 BRTF commander U K Pandey along with other officers.
The encroachments (228 in Itanagar, 189 in Naharlagun and 45 in Banderdewa) along the highway from Banderdewa to Chimpu are within Right of Way (RoW) of 40 mt, an official report said.
A notice was being sent to all concerned by respective administrative officers for removing encroachment within 20 mt from the centre of the road failing which the structures would be forcefully removed.
Moreover, three places (Naharlagun market area, Bank Tinali, Itanagar and Ganga Market, Itanagar) were identified for construction passways for convenience of the pedestrians.
Besides, surveying Itanagar-Naharlagun bypass via Jully for future upgradation, BRTF authorities were requested to strengthen the drainage network along NH-52A, especially in Naharlagun area, provide drinking water point at Banderdewa police check gate and develop new parking facilities at Naharlagun, the report added.
