Kolkata, Sep 6 (UNI) Amidst huge crowd and a glaring media, Prakash Jaiswal, who hit the jackpot of Rs 17 crore, remained speechless, even though the entire event was organised for him.
The numbers 3,9,15,26,29,39 had turned Mr Jaiswal, a businessman from Phoolbagan area in the city, into a man of crores overnight.
Sikkim Playwin lotto, an online lottery category, conducted by Pan India Network Infravest Pvt Ltd, handed over the whopping amount to Mr Jaiswal at a glittering ceremony here today.
The cheque was awarded to an overwhelming Mr Jaiswal by bollywood actress Bipasha Basu.
''I am tightlipped and confused. I had never thought in my wildest dream to get a huge amount ever, but I believe there is something called luck, '' said an exhilarating Mr Jaiswal.
''I would request all the people out here to at least try your luck once, who knows you may be the other crorepati, '' added Mr Jaiswal.
He also said he would like to expand his small metal business and store for the secure life of his family.
Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu said she had never cribbed regarding anything in her life as she had got a lot all by her hard work. However, she said she would definitely try her luck.
She further advised Mr Jaiswal to invest his money in a proper way.
This was the first biggest amount to be won in any lottery in India, Pan India CEO Sanjay Das said.
He further said Playwin had created about 65 crorepatis and 2,467 lakhpatis.
Mr Jaiswal would be getting around Rs 10 crore after giving the rest amount to the government as income tax.
