Suicide attempt by couple, husband killed

Ambala, Sep 6 (UNI) A young couple jumped before a running train near old Railway Crossing here this evening.

Husband Rajgir was run over and killed on the spot while his wife Seema was seriously injured with parts of feet chopped off. Before their suicide attempt, they placed their few months' old baby outside the track.

Following the incident, the train was delayed for about 20 minutes after it was halted to extract the body of the deceased Rajgir.

The cause of their extreme step was not immediately known but poverty might be the cause behind it, police said.
